DESCRIPTION: France, an attractive architectural mantel clock with animated figure, gilt and silvered bronze case, the rectangular base on gilt, scroll feet with Grecian ornament, the mid section also with cast ornament surrounding the Roman numeral silvered dial, and top with deeply molded, ornamental cornice, surmounted by a figure of Cupid with his bow and quiver, now with a smaller cupid at his feet, above a cluster of flowers, and attached to a wire linked to the pallet arbor, rocking to and fro as the clock runs, 8 day, time and strike pendule de Paris movement signed "Rodel", with silk thread suspension
CONDITION: case dirty, silvered surfaces with some staining and tarnish, gilding good, the animated cupid an incorrect replacement for the original butterfly, dial with tarnish, hands with minor oxide, movement needs work, ticks, strike mainspring broken, bell missing
